Compassion Capital Fund

I ran across this article in the PNN Online called $700,000 Awarded to Organizations From Compassion Capital Fund.

Fourteen Faith-Based-Solutions clients received the Compassion Capital Fund (CCF) this October. Each faith-based initiative was offered $50,000 from the Targeted Capacity Building Program totaling $700,000 in funds.
To be considered for the award, the community services of the organizations had to fall into one of four categories: help for at-risk youth, help for the homeless, marriage education and preparation services, or social services to those living in rural communities. If they matched the category requirements, they could apply for one of two grant programs: the Demonstration Program, or the Targeted Capacity-Building Program.

When perusing the ChurchRelevance.com blogsite, I came across a great post called: FREE Worship Resources :: WorshipFrequency.com. It gives the website for Frequency, a free online worship resource center. You will find instructional videos, Bible studies, articles on worship and resource links there. All you have to do is sign up for it. It was launched by Chris Tomlin (artist, song writer and worship leader at Austin Stone Community Church in Austin, TX).

The Movement

Many of you are familiar with Pastor Tim Keller and Redeemer Presbyterian Church in Manhattan. Keller and others associated with Redeemer and their church planting network contribute to this online publication – The Movement. Although written from their prospective of doing ministry in New York’s urban context, there is much that can be learned and translated for different ministry contexts around the country. The books and other resources listed are some of the best I’ve read.

I found this and thought it would be a great resource - Christian-Internet. This company does everything from internet services, to marketing help, to ministry services and helps. They have a list of current clients posted on their site so you can check references and client satisfaction.

LNs Salary and Economic Outlook Report

Leadership Network has released its 2006 Salary and Economic Outlook Report and you can download it for FREE! Link.

From the introduction:

The following report originated in a group of large churches that participated in a 135-question online survey during August 2006. It begins by profiling the churches that participated. It then examines the salary and benefits provided by these churches. Finally, it reviews their economic outlook for the coming months and year.

At present, there are approximately 300,000 Protestant churches in the United States, according to sociologists of religion. The vast majority have attendances of 20-200, and sometimes 300, 500, or even 1,000 or 1,500. In fact, 99.6% of U.S. churches have weekly worship attendances—adults and children— of less than 2,000. Many excellent salarycomparison resources (mentioned later in this report) are available for churches in those size ranges.

What about the 1,210 churches with attendances of 2,000 and higher? In terms of churches, they represent less than 1% of the number of churches in America, but in terms of attendance they represent several million people—more than 10% of America’s Protestant churchgoers. Their practices also serve as influential models for many other churches. Leadership Network invited a portion of these so-called megachurches to participate in the survey. What follows is a summary of what they told us.
